"Wtf? What the hell is this wack ass bullshit? Does homeboy actually think he's going to last?" I must say, these are the exact questions I was asking when I first witnessed the mark T-Pain put on the Pop/R&B music industry back in '05 with "Im In Love With a Stripper". Damn near 4 years later, this dude has grown to become one of my favorite artists in mainstream music. Now I know what yall are thinking: "Malcolm has always been about that underground, conscious, Kweli and Dilla boom bap REAL hip hop". Be that as it may (for the most part), I gotta give credit when credit is due, and this nigga deserves a hell of a lot.
Aside from the fact that dude can't sing a lick without his best friend Vocoder Jones and that his outfits are a little out there, when he gets in that booth the man lights up whatever track he touches, and his up and coming release, "Thr33 Ringz", is no exception. Track after track, Teddy P. delivers smooth and harmonic bass-bumpin hits, boasting an array of today's hottest artists from Ludacris to Lil Wayne to even Raheem Devaugn (believe me, I was just as surprised as yall on that one lol) He even re-does a Babyface classic, which, if I must say so myself, he shits on. Aight, enough with all the dick-riding, pre-order this album or cop it on its release date, Nov. 11, nuff said.
